Why Just P.L.A.Y.

Just P.L.A.Y. is a vision by a single mother's lack of information and resources and frustration. As a mother with limited income, I struggled to encourage creativity and find enjoyable events for my daughter. Just P.L.A.Y. was a brainchild that continues to promote community interactions and finding free or low-cost events. After stumbling on events, it made sense to post the information on my page and start a Facebook page hosting these events. Just P.L.A.Y. has grown into an activity finder for not only my friends and family but for the entire community.

This journey started in 2009, and now I am a mother of 4, ranging in the ages of 4 to 12. In the last 12 years, I have seen the development, growth, and desire to be a kid for my children and myself. I find laughter in having a "Staring Contest" or a game my children came up with called "Rate the Chief" (not sure why my children do this, but they do). Having hard conversations about friendships, relationships, and imaginary friends. Yes, I said imaginary friends....I told you all; I have a 4-year-old. I want to continue to encourage my children to stay children; as long as they can. With the range of emotions (mostly my 12-year-old & 4-year-old), I found myself trying to find activities that make them address how they feel. Spending one-on-one with my little people is easy but putting them all in the same room, O.M.G.........it gets LOUD, but these are the memories we hold on to.

The goal of Just P.L.A.Y. is to bring laughter, love, and memories in the home and out in the community.
